KATHMANDU, June 23: Fall by 5.37 points drags NEPSE Index down to 2,062.94
The opening of the Nepal Stock Exchange stood at 2,068.31 points today dropped to 2,064.07 points in the first 27 minutes before hitting its peak at 2,079.28 within another 15 minutes. It slid down steadily to touch 2,057.74 points before settling at 2,062.94.
The sensitive index for ‘A’ class companies fell by 0.63 points. Daily turnover increased to Rs 4.37 billion from Rs 3.87 billion on Thursday.
Among sectors, finance saw the biggest gain, at 128.53 points, followed by trading and ‘others’ which rose by 19.12 and 3.99 points, respectively. Hotels and tourism lost the most, losing 58.74 points.
Out of the total companies, 78 recorded gains while 164 saw losses. Pokhara Finance Ltd held the highest turnover at Rs 171.35 million. Global IME Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd was the biggest loser falling 6.58 percent in market value. Reliance Finance Ltd became the top gainer.
