Semi-final battle

Semi-final battle in between west indies and South Africa. West Indies set a target of 136 runs for South Africa to win. Opening the batting after losing the toss, West Indies had a score of 135 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Only one player touched the half-century mark for West Indies. He made 52 runs off 42 balls, consisting of 3 fours and 2 sixes.

West Indies stood at 2 wickets for 5 runs in the second over—pretty shaky start. Lendl Simmons opened the batting alongside Kyle Mayers. Simmons tatted 35 runs off 34 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes in his knock. Andre Russell added 15 runs in 9 balls before he was run out.

Tabraiz Shamsi was the most successful of the South African bowlers, taking three for 27 runs off his four overs. Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram, and Keshav Maharaj each took one wicket.

Both West Indies and South Africa are in the T20 World Cup semi-finals. England has booked their place for the semis from Group 2. Today’s game will decide the second team which will make it out from the group.
